Far Off Land An attempt at a philosophical evaluation of the hallucinogenic drug experience. It has seemed to me that the well-established properties of the hallucinogenic drugs might be well employed to enable us to explore this far-off land, which is in effect our subconscious mind. Eugene aims to bring together the perspectives of philosophy Hopefully with the immence background of anthropology, literature, comparative religion, the arts and psychology can someday be brought together with pyschotropic knowledge to better understand our consciousness to ultimately improve humanity cure mental illness and even solve lifes mysteries. Were we to learn its secrets, we would better understand our own desires, and the motives which drive us through life. Still better, the secrets of human history would perhaps be discovered as the eternal patterns of imagination which have shaped our spiritual existence. But perhaps most important of all, to penetrate the well of the past might restore to us that visionary perception which we think to have once possessed. The far-off land has tremendous meaning and insight. Intelligently written and poetic. Takes you on journey that feels you full with meaning and insight that leaves you with a sense of awe and mystery attaching to our contemplation of life Filled with historical facts and quotes from the worlds greatest minds and literature. Importantly, it is a fact that these drugs can have profoundly positive impacts on many individuals. In addition to positive psychological and spiritual benefits, psychedelics have been used by many cultures throughout antiquity and were considered sacred. An Awareness catalyst to know the true Unitive Nature of existence. The basic pantheist understanding is that All is One, the entire Universe is interconnected by a Divine Consciousness known as the Great Spirit, God the Aztecs had given one of them the name 'Teonanacatl' the 'Flesh of the God', in honor of its miraculous properties, which enabled one to see visions, to foretell the future, and to obtain supernatural revelation. Which This pantheistic view of the nature of the universe is also supported by quantum physics, which demonstrates that everything is interconnected as One Mind in a Divine Matrix. All matter is a product of this One Mind. The Universe or Nature is the eternal manifest body of that Collective Consciousness and we are all a part of it. Universal Consciousness, characterized most essentially as energy in the form of eternal Love, is embedded within the entire body of nature, including us. We are all constituent "cells", and unique incarnations, of this one infinite mind, body and Spirit. Eastern spiritual wisdom indicates that of these aspects, Spirit is the eternally unchanging component of reality. The material universe and its ever-changing physical phenomena are considered as Maya, because it causes an intense illusion of egoistical separation from each other and the rest of Nature. Through the use of psychedelics, this illusion of complete separation is transcended and the truest essence of Oneness is experienced beyond words. The ultimate purpose is for each and every member of the Pantheon to attain Oneness by realizing and practicing Love Consciousness, which is that which unites. Numerous ancient religions and cultures of people have used psychedelics to transcend the egoistical illusion of separation (self) and realize the Universal Spirit (Self) within that connects all beings. For example, the ancient Hindus used and worshiped the psychedelic called Soma, Africans used ibogaine, Native Americans used peyote, Mazatec tribes used ololiuqui the Amazonian tribes used ayahuasca, Ancient Greeks used kykeon in the Rites of Eleusis, and Ancient Europeans used magic mushrooms. Because we are interconnected with Nature and all living beings, we inherently are deeply committed to peace and a powerful concern for environmental and social justice for our entire planet because it is part of us and we are a part of it. In carrying out the inherent duty of this belief (loving interconnection to everything), we are obligated to strive to our utmost in whatever capacity within our means to work diligently toward peace and a global sociopolitical system that genuinely protects all environmental ecosystems and human rights for everyone. This philosophy is based in part on the Eastern spiritual wisdom laid down most fundamentally in The Rig Veda, The Bhagavad Gita and The Upanishads. Some of the other most crucial spiritual reference texts include The Doors of Perception, Food of the Gods, Island, The Dhamapada, The Perennial Philosophy, Moksha, Nature, The Oversoul, Transcendentalism, Revolution from Within and many others. This tradition has been further synthesized in Western culture by American transcendentalists like Ralph Waldo Emerson and by renowned intellectual author Aldous Huxley. We must seek divine truth in all people, religions and spiritualities and through comparative analysis and Divine Intuition, we can synthesize and distill common truth into a stronger spiritual system in harmony with science, which, in terms of quantum mechanics and molecular genetics, strongly confirms the fact that we are One interconnected family of Being. Importantly, the primary religious experience offered by entheogens is the most crucial keystone to this philosophy. Personal experience of the Unitive State "Being as one" Everything other than primary experience is secondary and inferior. Experience who you/we really are directly and know Reality. Our organization strives to be open and committed to dialogue for the purpose of seeking and knowing genuine truth. It should also be noted that Toland, the founder of the term "pantheism", was also the founder of formalized "freethinkers". Psychedelic Pantheist Pantheon References: Illusion works impenetrable, Weaving webs innumerable, Her gay pictures never fail, Crowds each other, veil on veil, Charmer who will be believed, By man who thirsts to be deceived. -"Maya" by Emerson We have drunk Soma and become immortal; we have attained the light, the Gods discovered. Now what may foeman's malice do to harm us? What, O Immortal, mortal man's deception? -Rig Veda O Countless formed Divinity. You are the resting place of the world. This entire world is pervaded by You. -Bhagavad Gita "I have realized the Self," declared the sage, "who is present in all beings. I am united with the [Great Spirit] of Love; I am united with the [Great Spirit] of Love." Om shanti shanti shanti -The Upanishads All of us, all over the world, are cells in the body of humanity. You are not separate from your fellow humans, and you cannot find harmony for yourself alone. You can only find harmony when you realize the oneness of all and work for the good of all. Are sense of awe that contemplates life natural and spiritual as a meaningful unity. -Einstein "Everything is alive; everything is interconnected!" - Cicero “He who experiences the unity of life sees his own Self in all beings, and all beings in his own Self, and looks on everything with an impartial eye.” Bhagavad Gita The art of life is to live in the present moment, and to make that moment as perfect as we can by the realization that we are the instruments and expression of God Himself/(Herself)Emmet Fox. "For art to exist, for any sort of aesthetic activity or perception to exist, a certain physiological precondition is indispensable: intoxication." — Friedrich Nietzsche Our greatest blessings come to us by way of madness, provided madness is given us by way of divine gift. --Socrates. Each one of us is potentially Mind at Large. But we are animals, our business is at all costs to survive. To make biological survival possible, Mind at Large has to be funneled through the reducing valve of the brain. What comes out at the other end is a measly trickle of the kind of consciousness which will help us to stay alive on this planet… temporary by-passes (of the reducing valve) may be acquired (through) deliberate "spiritual exercises,"… or by means of [psychedelic sacrament]…Mind at Large seeps past the no longer watertight valve, all kinds of biologically useless things start to happen. In some cases there may be extra-sensory perceptions. Other persons discover a world of visionary beauty. To others again is revealed the glory, the infinite value and meaningfulness of naked existence, of the given, unconceptualized event. In the final stage of egolessness there is an "obscure knowledge" that All is in all—that All is actually each. -Aldous Huxley In the woods, we return to reason and faith. There I feel that nothing can befall me in life - no disgrace, no calamity which nature cannot repair. Standing on the bare ground - my head bathed by the blithe air and uplifted into infinite space - all mean egotism vanishes. I become a transparent eye-ball; I am nothing! I see all; the currents of the Universal Being circulate through me; I am part or parcel of God. -Emerson A human being is part of the whole called by us universe ... We experience ourselves, thoughts and feelings as something separate from the rest. A kind of optical delusion of consciousness. This delusion is a prison for us, restricting us to personal desires and affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from the prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. The true value of a human being is determined by the measure and sense in which they have obtained liberation from the self. We shall require a substantially new manner of thinking if humanity is to survive. -Einstein Divinity is the enfolding and unfolding of everything that is. Divinity is in all things in such a way that all things are in Divinity. -Nicolas of Cusa Everything is united by love alone. Love is God, and to die means that I, a particle of love, shall return to the general and eternal source. ." -Huxley I have been taken beyond the realm of vision to the realm of what the mystics call "obscure knowledge"- insight into the nature of things accompanied by the realization that, in spite of pain and tragedy, the universe is all right, in other words God is Love. The words are embarrassingly silly and, on the level of average consciousness, untrue. But when we are on the higher level, they are seen to stand for the primordial Fact, of which consciousness is now a part. -Huxley from Moksha Crucify the ego before it's far too late And you will come to find that we are all one mind -Maynard I believe in the cosmos. All of us are linked to the cosmos. So nature is my god. To me, nature is sacred. Trees are my temples and forests are my cathedrals. Being at one with nature. - all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. And We are expressions of the Universe. John Allegro "We live in succession, in division, in parts, in particles. Meantime within man is the soul of the whole; the wise silence; the universal beauty, to which every part and particle is equally related, the eternal ONE. And this deep power in which we exist and whose beatitude is all accessible to us, is not only self-sufficing and perfect in every hour, but the act of seeing and the thing seen, the seer and the spectacle, the subject and the object, are one. We see the world piece by piece, as the sun, the moon, the animal, the tree; but the whole, of which these are shining parts, is the soul" -Ralph Waldo Emerson (Oversoul) "Everything is God, including that which tries to live without God. For what tries to live without God is simply a part of God that doesn't accept itself. It is God pretending not to be God. People who do "evil" acts are not separate from God even though they feel separate. They feel unloved and act in unloving ways.... But God has not stopped loving them. God is not able to stop loving anyone. For God is love, always love, in every moment. Every sin is but a temporary moment of separation. It cannot be final. Every child who strays from God's love will return, because it is too painful to separate from the Source of love. When the pain becomes too great, every wounded ch...ild turns back. There are no exceptions. The world is a classroom for redemption. Everyone who comes here tries in one way or another to live apart from God's will. Each person experiences fear and listens to the ego's voice. Some simply realize more quickly than others that they can't find love in separation." -Paul Ferrini "There is only one [Higher Self and it is within]. From that One, you receive. To that One, you give. When you look at yourself, may you remember. When you look at your brother or sister, may you also remember. When you look away in fear, remember only this: Subject & object, lover & beloved, are not two, but one in the same. What you give & what you receive are reflections of each other." -Paul Ferrini "The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realize their relationship, their oneness, with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells Wakan-Tanka (the Great Spirit), and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us. This is the real peace, and the others are but ref...l...ections of this. The second peace is that which is made between two individuals, and the third is that which is made between two nations. But above all you should understand that there can never be peace between nations until there is known that true peace, which, as I have often said, is within the souls of men." ~Black Elk "Mystics, contrary to religionists, are always saying that reality is not two things -God and the world- but one thing, consciousness. […] The problem with science has always been that most scientists believe that science must be done within a different monistic framework, one based on the primacy of matter….quantum physics showed us that we must change that myopic prejudice of scientists, otherwise we cannot comprehend quantum physics. So now we have science within consciousness, a new paradigm of science based on the primacy of consciousness that is gradually replacing the old materialist science. […] the new paradigm resolves many […] paradoxes of the old paradigm and explains much anomalous data." -Amit Goswami [The Eastern mystics said:] "I now know what reality is like, and this takes away all the unhappiness that one ever had. This is infinite, this is joy, this is consciousness." This kind of exuberant statement that mystics make could not be made on the basis of epiphenomenal consciousness. It can be made only when one recognizes the ground of being itself, when one cognizes directly that One is All." ~Amit Goswami, quantum physicist ♥ A religion of humanity means the growing realisation that there is a secret Spirit, a divine Reality, in which we are all one, that humanity is its highest present vehicle on earth, that the human race and the human being are the means by which it will progressively reveal itself here. It implies a growing attempt to live out this knowledge and bring about a kingdom of this divine Spirit upon earth. By its growth within us oneness with our fellow-men will become the leading principle of all our life, not merely a principle of cooperation but a deeper brotherhood, a real and an inner sense of unity and equality and a common life " ~Heehs You are the sun, the rain, and the moon beams You are the Divine Goddess of my dreams You are the sun, the rainbows, the moon beams You are the Divine Goddess inside me You are me and I am you I’ll always be with you You are me and I am you I’ll always be with you ~Shpongle "I believe in God, only I spell it Nature." - Frank Lloyd Wright "There are gods in everything." - Thales "I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together." - John Lennon, 'I Am the Walrus' "As the sun, which helps all eyes to see, is not affected by the blemishes of the eyes or of the external things revealed by it, so also the one Atman, dwelling in all beings, is never contaminated by the misery of the world, being outside it. Eternal happiness belongs to the wise, who perceive Him within themselves—not to others." - The Upanishads 'God, Guru and the Self are the same." - Ramana Maharshi "...unless I am free to explore my own consciousness, then I not really free at all..." ~Graham Hancock Wherever and whenever the ego function began to form, it was akin to a calcareous tumor or a blockage in the energy of the psyche. The use of psychedelic plants in a context of shamanic initiation dissolved-as it dissolves today-the knotted structure of the ego into undifferentiated feeling, what Eastern philosophy calls the Tao. The full psychedelic experience impacts on everything - it impacts on art, anthropology, music, religion, cosmology, physics, psychology, cognitive sciences, chemistry, everything. And these tools must be used humanity depends on them Eugene was a brilliant man who had 5 degrees includng a Phd in musicology, a Phd in German literature and a phd in philosophy, pharmacology and the fine arts. Has performed lectures on LSD and psychedelics. And writings in Utah pharmicuetical journal. My name is Eric Hendrickson. Grandson of Eugene. And The far land was left to me when he died. I was destined to receive this book and its gives me great purpose that I get his work out there for the world to see. Please Invite your friends to this group... Thank you, for your support.
